15.07-16.07 Praam Cagliari-Palermo
Nüüdseks olin aru saanud, et praami siseruumid on jõledalt igavad ning palju meeldivam on nautida sõitu tekil. Laotasin oma varanduse maha ning kuni päikeseloojanguni lugesin raamatut "Misura del mondo" (ehk "Maailma mõõtmine"), mida olin senimaani lihtsalt raskusena kaasas kandnud...... eks lisakilodeta oleks kõik need mäed ju liiga lihtsalt ületatavad olnud.
Ferry to Palermo. I had already understood that it's completely boring to stay inside when travelling on the ship...... It's much more fun to hang around on the deck, enjoy the wind and the sky full of stars (viva la hotel of thousand stars!!). So, I just put down my things, read "Measuring the world" by Daniel Kehlmann (before I just carried the book with me, virtually without reading, just for extra weight :D).
Somehow I started to talk to two little kid..... it was fun as always with kids, even though the conversation end up always with questions like: "alone?"; "aren't you afraid?"; "what does your family say?"; "why do you do it?"..... what can i say. I have only one life, and I'm the only one who can enjoy it. Or not?
Already in the beginning of the sailing I noticed one girl laying in the hamaca which she has mounted on the deck. When it got too dark for reading I returned to that girl..... good surprise, there was also an other traveller..... It was easy to understand that they were my type of people, so I didn't hesitate to disturb them. Anastassia from Germany was going to Greece by motorcycle, Nico from Belgium was by foot/hitchhiking and i was still by bike...... Good combination I guess! We talked and talked and.... started a picnic spontaneously. We took out of our bags everything which was eatable or drinkable and destroyed it all. I think everybody in the restaurant was envying :D.
Iga halva juures on siiski midagi head, nimelt andis vihmasadu meile põhjust mitte veel eri suundades laiali minna, vaid hoopis koos kohvile minna :D.
You can only immagine how amazing it was to spend some time with soulmates..... Yeah, I've met a lot of tourists on the road, also cyclers but most of them have been really well equipped Germans in group, heading to some place where train or airplane was waiting for them already..... to avoid too hard and long distances uphill.
We were all alone, with small luggage, even smaller budget and big amount of energy and curiosity :D. Somehow the night passed so fast.... I told to my new friends that I was dreaming of clouds, even rain, and there it was. It was raining in Palermo!! My dream came true. Do you think I was happy??? Surprise-surprise - not so happy, but it was reason to go and take a good caffe together, before splitting.
